This week, Wednesday evening is Achi Chokyi Drolma practice. Thursday at 6am Ven. Khenpo Choephel Rinpoche will offer the Eight Precepts vow for the full moon day along with a smoke offering. On Saturday, Khenpo will offer basic Dharma teachings and will be available for Q & ASunday July 13th we will be doing a purification practice and meditation with Khenpo.

Thursday, July 10, 6am. Full Moon Precepts and Smoke Offering. Online and in person. Ven. Khenpo Choephel Rinpoche will offer the Eight Precepts vow for the Full Moon fasting day. This is the 5th month and is World Smoke Offering Day on the calendar – we will be doing a smoke offering after the precepts.  Join us on Zoom.

 

Saturday, July 12, 9am. Basic Dharma Talk. Online and in person. Ven. Khenpo Choephel Rinpoche will give a talk on basic Buddhist topics, simple visualization, short recitation (Chenrezig or Buddha Shakyamuni), and Shamatha meditation. He is often depicted as wielding a flaming sword in the right hand which cuts through ignorance, attachment, and delusion, and holding in the left hand a lotus flower containing the Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra, the Sutra of the Perfection of (Transcendent) Wisdom.   Join us on Zoom.

 

Thursday, June 5, 7pm. Guru Rinpoche Tsök Offering. Online and in person. Tsök is a feast-offering ceremony with prayers and chants to connect to our spiritual teachers for guidance and blessings. Ven. Khenpo Choephel Rinpoche will lead. Khenpo Choephel Rinpoche will give the empowerment on Saturday morning, with retreat to follow Saturday afternoon and Sunday. On Sunday May 18th, representatives from TRTCC will be participating in The Buddhist Society of Pittsburgh’s annual Vesak Celebration. We will be making a 37 heap Mandala Offering & reciting the short Mandala Offering verses as part of the ceremony. It is being held at Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church, 416 West North Avenue in Pittsburgh from 3:00 – 5:00 PM  (Doors open at 2:30 PM).  More details are available here.
